WHAT THE CLIENT NEEDED
We wanted to find out who my Monday Motivator audience was, what they did and why they read the Monday Motivator. This was so we could use the information to send better Monday Motivator’s, provide advertising opportunities and get to know if they would like the Monday Motivator book idea.
WHAT WE DID
We sent a Monday Motivator to the Monday Motivator database saying:
Fitness Life has kindly provided ten, 12 month subscriptions. Your chance to win is Wednesday. Look out for the Monday Motivator entry email Wednesday morning for your chance to win.
We then sent the entry email on Wednesday morning. This email outlined the prize, why Glenn was doing it and thanking them for entering.
It had three call to actions, enter here >>, that went to a landing page with the questions we wanted answered.
First name | Last name | Email address | Format | Age | Gender | Profession / Industry | Do you forward the Monday Motivator? | If so, to how many? | How did you find out about the Monday Motivator? | Would you be interested in a motivational book featuring YourMondayMotivator? | Enter security code?
The entry email was sent to the Monday Motivator database with Spikemail. The landing/ entry page was designed / built by Glenn and hosted on Spikemail. The information went back to Glenn. They received a thank you for entering email with a link to mondaymotivator.co.nz
Email was sent to the whole Monday Motivator database – we had 98.17% deliverability.
Total opens: 58.4%
Unique opens: 27.4%
Total clicks: 33.6%
Draw clicks: 29.9%
The response rate of 12.47% is incredible. The fact readers took the time to fill in all the questions and enter a security code shows a great offer and excellent sender / reader relationship.
It is a real snapshot of who Monday Motivator readers are and shows interest in the Monday Motivator book.
A real surprise was the database growing by 2.4% over 24hours; as we had not expected that to happen.
