Monday Motivator

Good Morning!

One of the first things that go out of the window as we get busier is our fitness.

A gym session is easy to put off when you’re busy and in a rush to get to work or home. A walk around the block is a lot slower when you’ve got a toddler wanting to “walk” and it’s harder to find time in the evening when they don’t go to bed on time.

Unfortunately, this affects our immune system meaning that we get run down and stressed out more easily.

What to do?

Before we had kids I realised my time was going to be at a premium and I had to figure out how to stay fit without going to the gym. This has culminated in a daily morning practice of burpees, skipping and stretching in the evening. Stretching is stretching what I do, to be honest. Sitting on the floor instead of a couch and moving around is more like it :)

However, my daily practice means that even if I don’t get to work out in the evening I’ve done something that positively affects my fitness and mental health each day. And it hasn’t been that hard to do.

The outcome of forming some simple habits over the years is I’ve stayed relatively fit and healthy and my regime is super portable. It just needs me, a skipping rope and some floor space. Simple.

This week think about programming some time for you each day to move and jump, go to the gym or take a walk. Stick to your guns and take the time for yourself. If someone wants to have coffee during your time ask them if they want go for a walk instead. The difference in your life and those around you will be huge.
